Working with Music Victoria, our team redesigned their website to enhance the user experience for both new and existing members. Through a structured UX/UI approach, we improved navigation, clarified membership benefits, and increased accessibility. This redesign supports Music Victoria’s mission by making resources, events, and memberships more accessible, ultimately fostering a stronger music community.

My Role

As a core team member, I contributed to each phase of the project, from user research to final design implementation. My responsibilities included conducting user interviews, developing personas, mapping user journeys, designing the interface in Figma, and conducting usability tests to ensure our solutions met user needs.

Process

Our UX/UI process was structured around understanding user needs and addressing specific pain points:

Problem Definition & Research

We began with comprehensive user interviews and usability testing on the existing site to identify navigation issues and user expectations by using the UX methods which showed in the key outputs.

Design & Prototyping

Based on our "How might we" question we created our personas, such as “Charlie,” an emerging artist is the potential user, and “Jamie,” an established songwriter is the existing user, to represent key user groups and guide design decisions.

Development & Implementation

Leveraged agile development methodologies to build the scheduling app from the ground up. Prioritized feature development based on user feedback and technical feasibility. Implemented AI algorithms to analyze user behavior and optimize scheduling recommendations.

Testing & Optimization

Conducted rigorous testing across various devices and platforms to ensure compatibility and performance. Gathered user feedback through beta testing and iteratively optimized the app based on usability metrics and user satisfaction.
